Kate Moss celebrates the Matchless 2015 campaign alongside top male model Clement Chabernaud. Founded in 1899 with the iconic status of being the oldest British manufacture of motorcycles, motorcycle clothing and accessories, Matchless embodies the traditions of British elegance and luxury in urban mobility. The 2015 campaign personally styled by Kate Moss in Ibiza by luxury fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, epitomizes these qualities inherent in the brand’s DNA. Launching the new season collections, Moss and Chabernaud are pictured alongside an original 1960’s Matchless Motorcycle with sidecar from the Matchless museum.Kate Moss wears key pieces from the women’s collection including the technically innovative “Racefarer 115th Celebration Blouson” with celebrative patch on the sleeve in the seasonal tone of bright ‘Royal’ blue nylon, practically treated with internal coating to make the garment entirely waterproof whilst regulating body heat. She also showcases the timeless black on trend studded “Miss Kate Blouson” in Matchless soft nappa leather and elegantly similar “Kate Vent Waistcoat”. The final shot depicts Moss wearing the “M5 Printed Blouson” perfectly offsetting the desert landscape in the shoot in antique red, entirely manufactured and processed in Italy, with iconic M patch logo on the back. Clement Chabernaud models the “New Brooklands Blouson” in Nappa leather and professional cotton belonging to the hybrid collection, alongside the iconic “Collier” jacket, named after the brands founder. Henry Collier, design engineer, successful entrepreneur and winning rider, together with his sons, founded Matchless Motorcycles in 1899, which soon became the most important British motorcycle brand. Riding his Matchless, Charles Collier, Henry’s son, won the first Tourist Trophy in 1907 the mythical motorcycle race, that is still run today on the Isle of Man. Harry went on to win the race in 1909 and 1910. Following their great market success, the brothers acquired other famous brands such as AJS, Sunbeam and Norton. Their production factory, in Plumstead Road, in the very heart of London, became a mythical place of reference for every motorcyclist.
